Sweetnam is experienced within the independent aftermarket, joining TMD Friction from Bosal International, where he was the group commercial director aftermarket, with responsibility for European sales, marketing, and distribution. Prior to this he held the positions of managing director Bosal UK and the same role at Bosal Industrial Division in South Africa. 

Sweetnam reports to the senior vice-president aftermarket, Josef Besting, for TMD activities and facilities in the UK, including Cleckheaton, Warrington, and the manufacturing sites in Hartlepool and Manchester. He will also be responsible for commercial and marketing activity in the UK and Ireland with immediate effect.
