Comline Bike to Automechanika for BEN

03/09/2010

Comline's Malcolm Rosher and Jonathan Ward will be cycling the 800km from Comline headquarters in Luton to join their aftermarket colleagues in Frankfurt for Automechanika in September.

Malcolm and Jonathan hope to raise £5,000 for BEN. Malcolm, 54, is representing Comline while Jonathan, 62, will be representing Allied Nippon- Comline's associated braking brand. They hope to take five days to complete the route across Holland and Germany.

Speaking of their challenge, Malcolm said: "I've always understood the important role BEN plays within the industry, but I've become more involved since my appointment to the aftermarket committee of the SMMT. Jonathan and I are big admirers of BEN, who have been more important than ever in recent years and we wanted to do our bit to help. In fact, BEN is so important that I am actually missing my son's 18th birthday to take on this challenge, having missed his birth while attending Automechanika all those years ago!"

Charles Davis, BEN's Director of Fundraising and Communications added: "With over fifty years combined experience in the automotive industry, Malcolm and Jonathan clearly understand how important BEN is to their industry colleagues- even missing an important family event to help us. We are delighted that they have chosen to help us raise money and are certain that they will raise awareness of our work by taking on this crazy challenge!"
